Gotham By Gaslight Animated

Gotham By Gaslight Animated

The DC animated universe movies have been a big point of pride for DC Comics fans since Batman And the Mask Of The Phantasm in the 1990s. With the next release, Batman & Harley Quinn, coming out very soon, we have gotten a confirmation about what will be the next DC animated feature after that. According to a picture of the backside of the Blu Ray of Batman & Harley Quinn, the disc includes a sneak peak for the next animated movie, which will be an adaptation of the well known and beloved Batman Elseworlds tales "Gotham By Gaslight".

This Elseworld, what if?-type story was set in the 1800s, and had an old timey version of the Dark Knight go up against none other than infamous serial killer Jack the Ripper. The story was a huge success and started a trend in the 1990s of having a lot of DC heroes appear in these so called Elseworld tales, which also brought us amazing stories like Superman: Red Son and more.

A very intriguing proposition to finally get an Elseworld tale as a movie for the first time, which shows DC opening up even more of their impressive back catalogue for animated adaptations. Can't wait!

More Deathstroke On Arrow

More Deathstroke On Arrow

After his much teased return to the DC Comics/CW show Arrow in the finale of season 5, Manu Bennett's Slade "Deathstroke" Wilson was a very hot topic in a lot of TV watchers minds!
While his fate had been unsure, because of the season 5 cliffhanger of an island blowing up under a lot of characters feet, it has now been confirmed that we will see more of the character again in season 6.
Stephen Amell confirmed this recently at a Heroes and Villains Fest.

"I can report that Manu Bennett is back to being a part of the show, and I think we will see him multiple times this year, which is awesome,"

That wasn't all Amell teased, btw, since he also had this interesting thing for the fans:

"We have somebody returning to the show this year that we have not seen since season one."

So, who might that be? Sounds like Tommy, no? We will know more this fall, when Arrow continues with season 6.

Sean Murphy Reveals His Batman Comic

Sean Murphy Reveals His Batman Comic

Comic superstar Sean Gordon Murphy has been teasing a Batman project he would write and draw for quite some time! Now he finally revealed the name and idea behind the project, plus the first few teaser images and the cover, which you can check out above!
Describing the series to Wired Magazine, Murphy had this to say:

"The line Batman rides between 'noble vigilante' and 'overzealous oppressor' will always be shifting as our own society changes. We know the Joker is a genius, we know he's relentless, and we know he can play the crowd, so why not make him a politician? Frank Miller modeled him after David Bowie. Chris Nolan showed him as a controlled sociopath. I see the Joker as Don Draper."

After his amazingly done Punk Rock Jesus I have been eagerly awaiting this project, so i can't wait to get my hands on the collected edition soon. I also am excited if the story will for real be about an evil Batman and a good Joker, or if this Don Draper type Joker will just spin it to the public that way. Can't wait to find out!
The first issue of the mini series will drop on October 4th!

Steppenwolf Talks Justice League

Steppenwolf Revealed

The upcoming Zack Snyder/Joss Whedon directed DC Comics film Justice League will unite the biggest superheroes of all time for the first time on the big screen (FINALLY!) and they will take on an apokoliptian invasion, lead by Darkseid's first in command New God, Steppenwolf, which we have glimpsed in Batman v Superman talking to Lex Luthor.
Now, actor Ciaran Hinds talked about the character and about the New Gods intentions for earth.
Apparently the character will stay completely CGI.

"I don’t know whether they’re all afraid to come and meet me — no, no, they weren’t, really. Because it’s imaginary, you do it with green screen," Hinds tells the BBC. "That was another challenge, you could say, yeah. But it was quite fun. And they’re very encouraging in what you do, suggesting ‘Over here, look over there, imagine that, do this here, they’re coming at you now.'"

"I didn’t even have a costume when I was doing it. It’s all done in motion capture. So, they stick a helmet on your head, they put two cameras around, and they capture all your expressions, facial expressions. So basically, they’re going to concoct some kind of construction and they will use my facial expressions – eyes, mouth, voice – they’ll turn into this murderous, avenging Steppenwolf from the planet Apokolips, apparently, who’s bent on hell on Earth."

As much as I am excited to see this, more obscure DC character on screen, I really hope we will also see the real big bad, namely Darkseid, in the movie. Justice League comes into theatres in November and is easily my most anticipated movie of 2017!
